UKPC control the parking at my place of work.
Permits have to be on display on all cars to avoid a getting a ticket. My permit was on display but I had to park in a different bay to usual (perhaps this bay wasn't assigned to me?) and received a ticket due to 'displaying a non valid permit'. Whats the process here? Wait for a letter and then appeal? Many thanks |

perhaps this bay wasn't assigned to me? You tell us? Can work assist? Whats the process here? Wait for a letter and then appeal? Usually to wait for the NtK. Or appeal around day 25/26 (as the keeper) and hope they 'forget' to issue one. SIgn is forbidding. It only offers parking to those authorised. therefore no contract is offered to any other party.
They cant then claim you agreed to pay them £100 for parking there, becsause they didnt offer any contract at all. |

QUOTE appeal around day 25/26 (as the keeper) and hope they 'forget' to issue one. I favour this approach, appeal only as keeper, and do not respond to the letter begging to be told who was driving. By the time they get round to a rejection letter, UKPC have often overlooked the NTK altogether.

Received this in the post on Friday.
Should I respond just saying I've no idea who the driver was? Go through the appeals process at www.ukpcappeals.co.uk? As I did have a permit on my dash which can be seen in the photo they have provided, can I respond asking them to prove that the permit was not valid? Thanks |

Did you appeal as suggested? If not, will you ignore any further advice? Do you think that deliberately lying to them will help if they should bring this to court (any use your "I didn't know" statement along with your admission in this thread as to who was driving)?

Did you appeal as advised, or did you just leave it?

Any reason why not? Its complicated matters.
Its a striaghtforward appeal, that the permit was valid and no thing has been provided by them that proves otherwise. We dont know what bay the driver parked in and the signage for that bay. Woudl be sueful. |

There's no signage for that specific bay. Only the sign which I posted a picture of in the opening post which is for all spaces in this area.
Apologies if people think I was ignoring advice I didn't know who I was supposed to respond to and also there were varying opinions on what to respond with. I will appeal on the website www.ukpcappeals.co.uk with what Gan said. Many thanks for everyones input. |

I have drafted a letter which I am going to send them (attached) does it look ok?
Dear Sir or Madam, Parking ticket number: ---- Vehicle registration number: ---- I am writing to make a formal appeal with regards the above parking ticket. I am making my appeal due to the following reasons: • The alleged contravention did not occur Quite simply, the parking attendant got it wrong and I was not parked inappropriately at the time the ticket was issued. This is due to the fact that I did have a valid permit on display as can be seen on the pictures below. • UKPC sign is forbidding The sign only offers parking to those authorised, therefore no contract is offered to any other party. UKPC can’t claim I agreed to pay them £100 for parking there, because they didn’t offer any contract at all. Please see picture of sign attached. Send Gans letter. Do not alter it, apart from the obvious details.

It looks far from OK You've told them you were the driver in violation of the first rule of appeals You've also given them points to argue with and use as a distraction They can even twist the points against you Why would you be concerned with the finer points of the signs if you had a valid permit ? |

I will appeal on the website www.ukpcappeals.co.uk with what Gan said. QUOTE I have drafted a letter which I am going to send them (attached) does it look ok? Gan's letters should be sent without amendment and exactly as shown. They are very carefully crafted to protect you and leave the PPC open to errors. ..........................Unless you know better. -------------------- Cabbyman 11 PPCs 0

Got a letter through the post the other day to say they apologize for the inconvenience and that it's been dropped. Thank you to all who contributed! You could still go for a breach of the Data Protection Act. The fact that they did no due diligence in issuing it is not helpful to them. Apart from that, and I know they watch here to take note of our current recommendations, they know it's a trespass matter that doesn't entitle them to claim against you. DPA breach for definite. If you want to lay out £25 then go for it. You will more than likely get £250 or thereabouts but £750 is already recognised as a satisfactory amount in case law. It'll put a smile on your face for sure. You can do this after Xmas if you like but getting the DVLA reply to who accessed your personal details will be needed so yuo can at least ask them right now as it'll take a while for them to respond. Just ask who accessed your personal details on what dates, and perhaps add in that can they also say if they authorised anyone to pass your details to anyone else. -------------------- The Asda shopping trolley parking ticket enthusiast
