hi just want some advice really, was driving to work on mon and got to the avarage speed cameras on that section and slowed down to the 50mph
and didnt think anything of it. next day was driving the same route and noticed the first camera a lot further forward than i remembered from yesterday, this one started on a bend and the day before it started on a striaght .now the chances are i missed the first camera on mon and drove at 70 to 80mph until i reached the second.
ive had a clean licence for years and no way would i ever go 30mph past the speed limit , iam really worried about what will happen,i dont want to get a ban and go to court, they will only see me doing massive speed through roadworks even though nothing is being done at the moment.
i drive a company car for a living so work will find out before i do, this happened on mon 21/2/11, how long before i here something
thanks for any feedback

not much i can tell you apart you seem to be one of many who ( might) have been got here, the limit starts at the sign, not the camera, did you drive throough a 50 sign at all

I went through these roadworks myself the other day. The 50 limit starts about 3/4 mile before the narrow lanes start. The first camera is about 200 yards into the limit area, with the second being at the start of the narrow lanes. There is then a camera about every 1/2 mile until the last one which is about 10 yards before the national speed limit signs.

There have been a number of 'victims' of these cameras posting on here recently too...

with a company car it may be a few months untill you do hear anything - I'm in same position with having a company car (not being registered keeper) knowing I can grab the points and not even know about it untill it's too late and they hit me at once like a tsunami

1st NIP (should be within 14 days) sent to registered keeper (lease company?)
Maybe even then lease company name secondary hire company
One of the above respond - prob naming your company secretary
They then name you (or other possible drivers)

each in the chain have 28 days to reply, although lease companys are usually quick on the ball (and may add an admin charge)

even if lets say you were at upper end of 70's, then I wouldn't expect that to be a ban (depending upon points you already have) - likely to be 4 or 5 points, so try and relax on that score

only time will tell though.

not a very usefull post I know, but just want to point out that this is still one of the advantages of being on a motorbike, so far pretty much all the average speed cameras are pointing to the front of the vehicles (appart from the M25. grrr!)
