Hi Guys
I’m new to this and desperately need advice here I have sent my nip for a speeding offence but now this has been forwarded to the SJP stage for displaying no L plates and doing 65 in a 50 zone (caught via safety camera van) in my partners car (nip reflecting this) The question id like to know - is this a ban now and court hearing or will I just get a fine and points for this!? I rang the police department for ticketing and they confirmed it’s at the SJP stage and I’m now awaiting papers My mental health is so bad (suicidal) and I’m so worried I will be named and shamed here also No excuse here and please forgive me here as I know I did wrong sad.gif A very worried Matt |

So, for my provisional, no insurance, band a fine and l plates offence - this will only be 6 points due to same occasion!? This no insurance thing is entirely a figment of your own imagination - there's no indication that your insurance policy would have been invalidated, and neither are you being prosecuted for that offence. Forget about it. -------------------- Regards,

Indeed - OP, please listen and understand: you have been charged with, it sounds like, two offences. The offence of "no insurance" you have made up out of your own imagination
You should get a TOTAL OF 3 points for this, if you just deal with the SJPN without ringing anyone, talking about anything more, etc. Just fill out thepaperwork, presuming it is as you have told us, and that should be the outcome Again: "no insurance" is something you have apparently made up. |

In addition, if you are not being supervised the offence is 'driving otherwise than in accordance with your licence', the same offence as is committed if you fail to display your L-plates. You can't commit that same offence twice on the same occasion so even if they spotted it, it wouldn't be another offence.

Hiya.
Please can anyone confirm if a SJPN case is publicly named in the local newspapers - when pleading guilty within 21 days for motor offences of speeding and no licence Also will the DBS (enhanced) be flagged up for the offences (if it’s recorded etc) Many Thanks This post has been edited by Mathew Reed: Tue, 14 Jan 2020 - 16:05 |

One case, one thread.
I very much doubt it will be in the paper - if it’s not in open court how would the press know about it? Only recordable offences will appear on a DBS check. Other information can appear at the discretion of the chief officer of police. I don’t believe either of the offences you have been charged with are recordable offences. -------------------- Moderator

Even if it was to be heard in a "normal" court it is most unlikely to be reported in the press. A normal traffic list may run to anything between 50 and 100 cases and the local rags do not send reporters to cover them unless there is somebody of interest or there is a case of particular interest in the locality.

Actually my local rag does report all those heard in open court. Skim through looking for people I may know or who live on my street..... Of course it seems pointless of the OP to ask as he can’t affect the outcome either way. -------------------- There is no such thing as a law abiding motorist, just those who have been scammed and those yet to be scammed!

Mine does -------------------- If you would like assistance with a penalty charge notice, please post a thread on https://www.ftla.uk/index.php

My local publishes a list of case outcomes, I think they get it from the court office.
