Hello
Looking for advice, just received the above, it also states that the allegation is supported by photographic and/or DVD evidence. I was doing 84 in a 70, a speeding van was stationed on a bridge over the motorway, the car in front braked extremely hard, as no one was behind me I moved into the outside lane in case the car continued it's emergency braking and possible lose of control of his/her car. It states that 'I give further notice that should the matter be reported to the PF consideration may be given by them, as an alternative, to proceed under the road traffic act 1988, sections 2 or 3 [dangerous driving]. They are asking for the driver to be named as both my wife and myself were in the car at the time. The offence details state "exceed 70mph speed limit for class of vehicle or road". max |

In Scotland they do pursue careless/dangerous for excessive speed. But 84 should result in a fixed penalty - 3 points £100.
Alternatively, you may wish to search for unsigned. -------------------- RK=Registered Keeper, OP=Original Poster (You!), CoFP=Conditional Offer of Fixed Penalty, NtK=Notice to Keeper, NtD=Notice to Driver
PoFA=Protection of Freedoms Act, SAC=Safety Awareness Course, NIP=Notice of Intended Prosecution, ADR=Alternative Dispute Resolution PPC=Private Parking Company, LBCCC=Letter Before County Court Claim, PII=Personally Identifiable Information, SAR=Subject Access Request Private Parking - remember, they just want your money and will say almost anything to get it. |

Thanks Jlc
I'll look into your suggestion, many thanks. Edit. As I live in Wales I am looking into the unsigned suggestion, but the addition of the possibility of sections 2 or 3 being given to the PF scares me a bit, I really don't fancy being nailed for anything more than I need be! max This post has been edited by maxti: Thu, 18 Oct 2018 - 21:31 |

They are asking for the driver to be named as both my wife and myself were in the car at the time. They’d be asking regardless of how many people were in the car - they don’t know who was driving, only who the registered keeper is. -------------------- Moderator

I was doing 84 in a 70, a speeding van was stationed on a bridge over the motorway... I doubt it was a speeding van, especially if it was stationary... -------------------- If you would like assistance with a penalty charge notice, please post a thread on https://www.ftla.uk/index.php
